Entering historic Annapolis is like opening a treasure chest…

Whether you live here or are one of the city's million visitors each year, you can't help but know you're in a place rich with history . . . filled with architectural, archaeological, and cultural gems to be discovered . . . bursting with stories to be told.

But where do you begin?

How can you best explore these treasures? Get a perspective on the city's four centuries? Learn how Annapolis has succeeded in keeping its past alive?

The Historic Annapolis Museum at the St. Clair Wright Center will be your guide.

Located near the bustling City Dock, the Historic Annapolis Museum offers information on Annapolis’ history and tickets and reservations for tours, excursions, venues, and other events. Exhibits include a 6-foot-by-6-foot model of Annapolis in the 18th century, and life-size cutouts of famous visitors to Annapolis, including George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, Mark Twain and Abraham Lincoln. Visitors are encouraged to pick up a rack card or a $5 audio tour and explore the town by following the footsteps of these famous visitors.

The second and third floors of the museum feature changing exhibits. These exhibitions allow for the exploration of more of Annapolis’ history and enable visitors to learn something new every time they walk through the doors. A stunning new exhibit, "Freedom Bound", opens on February 23, 2013.

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

From January 14 through February 22, 2013, the Museum will be closed for installation of a new exhibit.
